The designs were from various designers. The lid was from a 19th century French wallpaper from the online Antique Pattern Library.
The materials came from the casket course ordered from Tricia Nugyen's Cabinet of Curiosities.
The designs on the front and back came from early 20th century Silk Art embroidery from the book Silk Art Embroidery: A Women's History of Ornament & Empowerment, by Donna Cardwell, page 43.
Throughout the box there is a combination of Satin Stitch, French Knot, Stem Stitch, Long and Short Stitch, and Leaf Stitch. It was stitched on a linen ground using silk thread. Started shortly before the pandemic, completed December 23, 2023.
Left end and back side came from Italian Pietre Dure--a screenshot online of an example from an English manor house.
Alicia said, "[I] Really wanted to do an embroidered box, but when I got the materials, I changed my mind and started to either do my own design (nonstarter--can't draw) or find different designs I could make work together. This project helped a lot during the days of lockdown.
