Blue Jay was designed and taught by Clara Warschauer in an online class taken in early 2025. As a metalwork and stumpwork embroidery piece, it was stitched using pearl purl and smooth purls, metal plate, silk covered plate, leather, bright check purl, chipping, and sequins.
Jenn's Opus Anglicanum Ornament was from the November 2025 Dayton EGA class with Tanya Bentham. It has underside couching with silk and metal threads on Rame. She started it in class on November 25 and finished December 25, 2025. Jenn adores historical stitches and has done the technique before. She really just wanted to take the class directly from Tanya!
Jenn says, "This piece is my first original design Goldwork piece. It is a very personal piece to me as I grew up with scoliosis. As I’ve gotten older, I find myself looking for the beauty in the imperfections of life and nature." Jenn used Gold Twist, Gold Rocco, Gold Bright Check, Gold Smooth Purl, Pearl Purl, Gold Passing Thread, spangles, and silk straw on Linen. She started it in 2023 and finished in 2024.
